A small, independent practice built around long relationships, unhurried visits, and the same trusted providers every time you come in.
Dr. Brenden McRae has been a family doctor in Gilbert since 2010. Health First Family Medicine is the long-term primary-care side of his practice, the place patients come back to year after year for physicals, chronic-care follow-ups, and the small problems that turn into big ones if nobody's paying attention.
We built Health First Family Medicine to run the old way inside a building made for the new one. Appointments are long enough to actually talk. Most of what you need happens in one stop, without a referral or a second trip across town.
Serving Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Queen Creek, and the surrounding East Valley.
No revolving door of locums. You'll see Dr. McRae, Jeni, or Jessica, usually the same one over time, and they'll know your history without re-reading the chart.

Founder of Health First Family Medicine, Dr. McRae is a board-certified family physician with over 15 years of experience caring for patients in Gilbert and the surrounding East Valley. He began his medical training in 2004 and completed his Family Medicine residency in Albuquerque, New Mexico. With experience in both family medicine and urgent care, he offers a unique model that lets patients receive same-day care and long-term primary care in one location. Patients aren't rushed through visits; they're listened to, understood, and treated like family. Outside the office, Dr. McRae is a husband and father of eight, and has proudly called Gilbert home for over 15 years.

Raised in Gilbert. B.S. in Biology from Arizona State University, then a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (specialty in emergency medicine) and a Master of Public Health (communicable diseases emphasis) from Touro University California, 2010. Jeni's clinical background is in emergency medicine. That's the lens she brings to family-medicine visits.

Board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Twenty-plus years as an emergency-room nurse before becoming an NP. Jessica sees patients of every age: preventive care, chronic-disease management, and same-day visits for what comes up in between.
